No Damage to Buildings or Main Stadium
“It is worth noting that all of the center’s main constructions (press center, team cabins, scoreboard, hotel complex, office buildings and constructions, stands, shooting range and other supplementary constructions) suffered no damage. The course itself and slopes along the A loop course behind the south stands were partially damaged.
Repair Work Underway
As of today, the Winter Sports Center named in honor of A. Filipenko holds daily planned training sessions, the shooting range is open and loops A and B can be used. The government of Khanty Mansiysk has set up a special committee to assess the damage.. A list and a scale of the recovery works were estimated and the schedule of the works was confirmed. The financing for the recovery works was allocated from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug’s budget and the contractors have started the work. All of the above mentioned arrangements allow us to guarantee that before the beginning of the winter season the Biathlon Center in Khanty-Mansiysk will be fully restored and ready to hold competitions of any level.”
