Before the Season

She wrote, “I came to a decision which is right for me and well thought out and I am glad that I can finally say openly what I think.” She explained that she had intended to tell her fans before the start of the season but circumstances prevented her from doing that.

New Phase

Currently, Neuner is working on her C-coaching license. She wants to pass on her experience and knowledge to kids and young biathletes in the future. She addressed her fans, “In any case I will still be there for you, just in a different role and I would be very happy if you would accompany me on this new phase in my life.”

Yellow Bib

For now, however, the “Golden Girl” of the German team plans to enjoy her farewell season. Neuner was on the podium in all three competitions in Östersund; placing third in the 15K individual and the pursuit, while winning the sprint. The sprint victory was her 25th World Cup title. She is wearing the Yellow Bib going into the three competitions in Hochfilzen, Austria this week.
