Marie Dorin Habert: Biathlon Baby on Board!

The Olympic season did not turn out as planned for France's Marie Dorin Habert when she severely injured her ankle the day before the season opening mixed relay in Östersund. She missed every competition before Sochi, yet still was not in top form. She competed in the final three World Cups and made the podium in the Oslo mass start. Now she looking forward to next season, even though she may get a late start; her first child is due in September.

Le Tour de Martin in the French Jura

Tuesday was cool and cloudy with a few rain showers in the French Jura Mountains, but late afternoon found double Olympic Gold medalist Martin Fourcade cycling through pine forests and past disinterested cows accompanied by Coach Siegfried Mazet on a 45 km "easy, recovery ride."

Retirement for Marie Laure Brunet

France's Marie Laure Brunet announced her retirement from biathlon competition through a series of video interviews with the French media. While announcing her retirement, she commented that she will become the "number one fan for her French teammates" in the coming seasons.

Baby Girl for Lena; Coaching Changes in Ukraine

Retired German biathlon star Magdalena Neuner added mother to her long list of accomplishments last Friday with the birth of a daughter. The 27-year old Neuner and husband Seppi Holzer's new daughter, Anna Verena checked in at 51 cm, and 3,330 grams at the hospital in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Mother and daughter are doing well according to media reports in Germany. Congratulations to Lena and her husband!

Zdenek Vitek Moves from Athlete to Czech Women’s Coach

2003 IBU WCH Bronze medalist Zdenek Vitek was named as the Women's Coach for the Czech Republic on Tuesday, moving into the position held by Jindrich Sikola for the past four years. Sikola will now lead the Czech Junior Team as their Coach.

The International Biathlon Union – one of the seven Olympic winter sports federations is seeking a full-time Communications Project Manager for its Information and Public Relations Department within the IBU Headquarters in Salzburg 5020, Peregrinstraße 14, to begin on 01 July or August 2014. The administrative duties are performed first and foremost in English, but also in German and Russian languages.
